Emma Burtt Academic Tutor


Emma Burtt is currently studying for a DPhil in Criminology at Lincoln College, Oxford, having completed a Law degree at the University of Bristol and an MPhil in Criminological Research at Newnham College, Cambridge. Her doctoral research explores the lived experience of claiming wrongful conviction in prison. In particular, she is interested in the various coping mechanisms employed by individuals, how the perceived lack of legitimacy affects prison life, and the consequences of maintaining innocence in the prison environment.
