Today we’d like to introduce you to another one of our tutors here at OISS: Emma!

Emma Burtt Academic Tutors

Emma Burtt LLB, MPhil, DPhil Candidate

Emma is currently completing a DPhil in Criminology at Lincoln College, Oxford. She comes to Oxford from the University of Bristol where she completed her Bachelor’s in Law and Newnham College, Cambridge, where she did an MPhil in Criminological Research. Her research explores the lived experience of people claiming wrongful conviction in prison. This includes the coping mechanisms people use, how a perceived lack of legitimacy affect prison life, and the consequences of maintaining that you are innocent in the prison environment.

We are thrilled to have Emma join us as a tutor on the Law course, and we’re sure her research will provide plenty of material for intensive discussion and debate. Take a look at our Law course, and apply now!
