Pancake Day

February 10, 2016 - 1 minute read

Yesterday was Shrove Tuesday, which is more commonly known as Pancake Day in the United Kingdom. Up and around the country, people will be flipping crepes or American style pancakes, and then filling them with sugar, lemon juice, nutella, or much more! This is because it is the last day before Lent, which is when christians traditionally give up meat and luxury food for a period of reflection before Easter. Nowadays, though some people give up chocolate, the celebration does not retain much of the original religious meaning – people just like eating pancakes!

What do you do in your household at this time of year, and what do you like to put in your pancakes?
